White House Peace Vigil in Jeopardy

March 13th, 2014

Yesterday (March 12th, 2014), the United States Park Police stated that the White House Peace Vigil is not in compliance with their code. They plan on attempting to take down the 33 yearlong vigil today around 9 pm. We ask media, friends and supporters to come out and stand with us against suppressing our first amendment rights.

The White House Peace Vigil has been the longest running 24-hour vigil in U.S. history. Focusing on global nuclear disarmament and economic conversion. Which resulted in Senator Eleanor Holmes Norton introducing HR-3750 to U.S. Congress in 1994, the “Nuclear Disarmament and Economic Conversion Act.”

We encourage our supporters to call Senator Eleanor Holmes Norton to inform her about this situation. Please call her Capitol Hill – Rayburn Office number: (202) 225-8050. Please ask her to stand in solidarity with us as we stand our ground.
