Food, Clothing & Resistance Collective (FCRC) is hosting D.C. Law Students In Court (LSIC) Expungement Clinic to support the DC Community. This evening will also have live performances with an open mic for any artists who would like to sign up. The theme for the night will be: ‘Justice, Liberation & Resistance’! We are calling on poets, emcees, singers, musicians, griots and storytellers in the DMV to come and participate in “Law & Lyrics”!
Michael Barfield will be teaching the clinic. Mr. Barfield, is a Pro Bono Coordinator at Law Students in Court. Prior to joining the LSIC team, he was an associate for two years in the criminal defense, white collar, and Qui Tam practice groups at a DC area law firm. While there, he worked with clients in DC Superior Court and various Federal District Courts on matters ranging from the sealing of criminal records to suing corporate defendants for defrauding the federal government under the Federal False Claims Act.
REMEMBER: The clinic provides free eligibility determinations and representation for indigent participants in Washington, D.C. who have a criminal arrest, charge, or conviction that they wish to seal.
