Around 10:15 pm on Friday, March 14th, 2014 the United States Park Police came in full force to remove the white house peace vigil. Their attitudes were very aggressive, treating Taylor Hall (Co-House Manager of The Peace House) like a criminal. Asking for identification and threatening to arrest him. We put out an emergency call and got a few people to come down but the police said they would start arresting people if the tent wasn’t down in 15 minutes. In that amount of time there were not enough people to mount an effective resistance, so the tent came down. The cops stayed until it was gone, also ordering the removal of the vigils chairs. The White House Peace Vigil has been up for 33 years and has never been ¨in compliance” with the simultaneously strict and vague code which allows the United States Park Police to enforce the law as they see fit. The White House Peace Vigil began officially on June 3, 1981. Focusing on the end of all nuclear arms, peace and democracy.

This is outstanding, and you should put on the Facebook page. Would you like me to boost it? May I suggest that the Vigil was in existence before the code and has been grandfathered in. The code is very public, do you want me to find it for you? Other than that this is excellent. Your supporter really want and deserve to know what is going on. They have been asking me but I’m not there and don’t know the whole story. Impressive work

It’s really great reading about what’s happening, but it’s really hard for me to read because of the black background. The story is dramatic enough, and it needs to be easy for everyone to read. Keep up the good work, reporters! et
